Jilted

All through the night
into the morning sun
our hearts kept beat as one
our passion to keep
while others sleep
these are our golden years
no worries no problems no fear
precious dreams held so dear

take this vow till death do us part
take this love and treat it well
I give it from my heart
it’s all I have to give
in harmony we shall live
then comes the day
and the need to walk away
the dream is shattered torn and tattered
nothing to say just go away
wounded by life’s folly
here’s what to do
Boil a brew hemlock and holly
Heh Heh cackle cackle by golly
crossed sticks hazelnut swizzle
sleep well my darling
for when you awake with the sunshine
you don’t know it but your soul is mine
while you sleep your soul I will take
a little dolly I will make
wax cotton needle and thread
Ouch I pricked my thumb and made it bleed
but then again a little blood I will need
through your heart first I pierce
your lips I’ll stitch shut
ooh that’s fierce
maggots for eyes I place
ugly bastard dog shit face
thorn in your side
a bee sting you will ride
put it in a box wrap it thrice

make it secure and watertight
cross my path this is the price
down to the cliffs I go’s
full moon and cold wind blows
with a few parting words
I look to the west and throw
watch it float out on the tide
you will never reach the other side
forever to float upon the seas
to this mortal realm I bind ye
rue the day when you crossed thee
never again will your mind be at ease
forever bound sniveling hound
now you didn’t bargain for this
some things I bet you would like to change
isn’t life strange
stranger than fiction even with limited diction
you will understand in the end
words of warning friend
to the heavens I must first appease
notice the changing of the leaves
mortals full of themselves
nothing but thieves
full of lies complacent ally deceive
